How to Spend the Perfect Spring Weekend in Greater Grand Forks

Spring Activities in Grand Forks: What it Can be Like!

Having been raised in Grand Forks, I have developed a deep appreciation for the many qualities that make the spring season so special. After the long winter months, spring arrives with warmer weather, longer days and countless opportunities to get out, explore, and discover the unique charm of the city. My intention with this article is to help you envision and create the perfect spring weekend in the Greater Grand Forks area.

Spring Activities in Grand Forks: Morning Adventures

To start your early mornings, I recommend visiting one of Grand Forks’ many wonderful coffee shops. My personal go-to is Urban Stampede, a creative, community-centered, spot downtown that’s full of character and local charm. Their French Toast Latte is a must-try, but the seasonal menu also features a variety of creative specialty drinks that are always worth checking out. Pair your drink with one of their freshly made in-house bagels, the only bagels in Grand Forks baked daily, and you’ve got a delicious, energizing start to the day.

If your day is off to a later start, I recommend trying Skies 322 or the Spud Jr as brunch options, both Downtown favorites that serve a wide variety of savory and sweet dishes, all in a stylish atmosphere perfect for staying a while and enjoying an unhurried morning.

Spring Activities in Grand Forks: Outdoor Scenery

I highly recommend getting outside to explore a scenic route, and one of my personal favorites is walking around University Park, conveniently located near the college campus. As you wander through the park, you will discover gorgeous flower beds, long walking paths, and plenty of beautiful trees, perfect for hanging a hammock and relaxing if that’s more your vibe.

Spring Activities in Grand Forks: Spring Shopping

If you are looking for a fun shopping adventure, be sure to visit Midtown Marketplace. There you’ll find a wide variety of items including baked goods (with gluten free options), clothing, books, jewelry, home goods, and much more! Home to a diverse mix of local vendors all in one place, the marketplace delivers a fun and memorable shopping experience.

Another great stop only in Grand Forks is the beautiful boutique, Wild Bergamot. I absolutely adore this boutique! Wild Bergamot is a delightful place to discover distinctive, carefully curated items. It is the perfect spot to enjoy local shopping. Whether you are looking for something special for yourself or a thoughtful gift for a loved one. Every corner of the shop reflects creativity and passion for unique finds.

Spring Activities in Grand Forks: Floral Fun

A spot you must absolutely check out is All Seasons Garden Center. From the moment you step inside it radiates the joy of spring with fresh scents and lively displays that instantly lift your spirits. I make it a tradition to visit at the start of every spring season to discover my new favorite plants, flowers, and seasonal treasures. It is also a perfect place to take a fun photo, whether you are capturing the beautiful florals, or taking a fun selfie to remember your day. One of my favorite highlights of All Seasons is the mini koi fishpond inside, definitely take time to admire! All Seasons offers an experience that reconnects you with the vibrant energy of the spring season!

Spring Activities in Grand Forks: Find a New Read

Another local staple you must add to your list is Gracie’s place (books & coffee.) From the moment you walk in you feel a sense of peace and purpose. Without a doubt, you’ll find a new read, a fun sticker, or a mini essential you didn’t know you needed but will quickly fall in love with. The owners, Jen and Elio, have done an outstanding job creating a space filled with positivity, warmth, inclusivity, and mindfulness. It’s the kind of place that invites you to slow down and feel more inspired than when you arrive. Come experience it all and let Grand Forks surprise you!
