A COOL FACT: GRAND FORKS, ND STYLE
Did You Know?
We’ve gone international! Grand Forks has two sister cities: Dickinson, North Dakota and Sarpsborg, Norway. Dickinson became a sister city in 2002 in order to build relations between the Eastern and Western parts of North Dakota. In 2005, Grand Forks took things international when we began a partnership with Sarpsborg to build a relationship with our many citizens with Norwegian heritage. Our partnership with our former sister city, Awano, Japan, is immortalized by our famous Sertoma Japanese Garden. It’s the perfect spot to reflect on how the world feels just a little smaller—and a whole lot friendlier—thanks to our sister city connections!
