Food Trucks in Grand Forks: Melissa’s Mobile Cocina

Happiness to me often starts with a delicious plate of Mexican food – and Melissa Castro is serving up some of the best from her food truck Melissa’s Mobile Cocina. She serves up some of the best Birria, Tacos, Enchiladas, and Flautas in the Grand Forks area. My absolute favorite is their quesadillas – savory, cheesy, and grilled to perfection with a perfect kick from their phenomenal salsa. Are you feeling a little sweet? Just wait until you try a bite of her divine Tres Leches cake. You can follow Melissa’s Mobile Cocina truck schedule on their Facebook page: “Melissa’s Mobile Cocina.” She also is open to catering your next event or family gathering!

Food Trucks in Grand Forks: New Flavors Food Truck

This world-fare food truck has quickly made its way into my heart. You may be familiar with their permanent location, Chino Latino (otherwise known as Steers) on South Washington Street. Anything you get there is fantastic – my house cannot get enough of the Chicken Tikka or Bourbon Chicken and perfectly seasoned rice. But the best insider tip I can offer on New Flavors Food Truck is that it’s best to stop by often, as the flavors and offerings rotate with whoever rents the truck that day! New Flavors celebrates cultural diversity and offers employment for newly settled immigrants in the area. When you stop by, you enjoy incredible food and support a great cause. You can find this popular food truck around Grand Forks in the warmer months, – especially at outdoor festivals and events like our farmer’s market or ArtFest!

Food Trucks in Grand Forks: The Grand Forks Polish Stand

It’s hard to beat the variety and excellence of Grand Forks Polish Stand. This truck offers a wide array of options sure to please any set of taste buds, including Chicago Dogs, Gyro Wraps and Gyro Burgers, Hot Links, Brisket, Wings, and – well, I could go on and on! With options like these, it’s best to visit them frequently to sample them all because they are all fantastic. This truck’s hot-button favorite is the Jerk Chicken Special in partnership with Ground Round. You will not leave this truck hungry with its incredible portions; every combo comes with fries and a drink. Between you and me – take an insider tip and don’t miss the fry sauce. You can follow the Grand Forks Polish Stand on their Facebook page for location announcements, hours, and specials. If you can’t leave your desk, don’t sweat it, this stand also offers delivery!

Tacho Man food truck in Grand Forks.

Food Trucks in Grand Forks: Tacho Man

I could not make this list without mentioning the infamous Tacho Man truck. This downtown staple is a must-visit, whether visiting on your lunch break or catching them after a long night of bar hopping. Tacho Man has craveable hand-held eats that you’ll still think about the next day. One of the most notable is the combination of taco and nacho (as their name implies) – tortillas stuffed with taco goodness and covered with nacho chips, cheese, and savory sauces. What could be bad about that? Personally, anything with their slow-roasted pulled pork is a win in my book. Tacho Man always hits the spot when cravings hit most, and he is already on the move with the warmer weather and ready for summer business! You can follow Tacho Man’s scheduled stops on their Facebook page.

If there is one thing that you take away from this list, I hope it is this – Grand Forks is not only rich in exciting local eats but also in its variety from smokey to savory, culturally diverse to midwestern classics. Each of these businesses has something unique and delicious to offer in their food, of course, but they are also run by wonderful locals with their own adventures and stories to share. So next time you’re feeling the summer-food blahs, hop online and find one of our fantastic food trucks in Grand Forks, grab some noms, and say hello! It’s local businesses and communities like these that keep Grand Forks the coolest place to live.
