The Cooler Way of Life | Livelier Experiences

We’re humble around these parts, so we don’t usually brag about all the things to do and livelier experiences that make our lives so much cooler. Luckily, we have other people who’ve talked us up.

Thanks to TripAdvisor, you know that we’ve got the best pizza in North Dakota (Rhombus Guys Pizza!). And thanks to Travel + Leisure magazine, you know that we’ve got the best hot dogs, too (DogMahal DogHaus). The truth is we’ve got tons of mouthwatering delights in the Northland, along with a great downtown scene.

You should know right away that we cheer for the puck. For the 5th consecutive year, we were named America’s Best Hockey Town by Smartasset. But hockey isn’t the only lively thing about our Friday nights. We’ve got Broadway performances, cultural festivities, live music nearly every night, and activities for both the young and young at heart.

If you celebrate the weekend with a good book and a quiet conversation – don’t worry! You should know we were also voted in the top 7 Hygge (pronounced hyoo-gah) cities in the U.S by Livability. Hygge means cozy and we’ll pour you a steaming cuppa cocoa, provide you with ample sweater weather, share our hotdish with you at a neighborhood potluck, and even compete with you at board game nights.

Whatever your pace of life, we know you’ll find plenty of things to do and start living cooler in greater Grand Forks.

It’s big enough to have good times with sports and shows. And it is small enough so you can get around without stress. You can get acquainted with lots of people. Or if you prefer the quiet life, you also can find that here.

I love that there always seems to be something going on with sporting events, downtown events, or concerts. It’s small enough that you’re not in a city with traffic, but big enough that there is always something to do.

From the “I Do’s” at a wedding, to the smell of roasted almonds before the game winning goal, it makes me proud to call the Ralph home. And we are just a small part of the uniqueness that makes Grand Forks, “way cooler than you think”.
